Satellite Propulsion

We are at the brink of a new era - the era of satellite constellations. These are very large satellite clouds of several tens up to several thousand satellites flying in LEO. This is only possible if each individual constellation satalite is small and relatively cheap. Hence, equipping a constellation satellite requires simpler and cheaper systems, which is also the case for propulsion system. This calls for component and sub-system production approach in a non-traditional manner with elements of mass production.

The severe cost limitation might also impose limitations on the total number of propulsion systems while still having to guarantee the targeted thrust capabilities, not only in performance, but also in thrust direction. These problems are met with the solutions under developement at Sparc Industries sarl.
